Portrait as the excess element in genre classification of photojournalism
The article explains the redundancy of press portrait as an independent genre in a photojournalism palette of genres. Analyzing several popular versions of genre classifications, the author separates the basics of genre individuation for photography as an art and photojournalism. Trying to bring a portrait outside of photojournalism genre system is done to create a more fair and reasonable definition of the photojournalism genres boundaries and the capacity of attributes of their differentiation.
