SYSTEM ОF DIAGNOSTIC TASKS IN THE INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT BASED ON THE BLOG-TECHNOLOGIES

This paper examines the organization of teaching informatics of higher school students by means in interactive educational environment based on the blog-technologies. The creation of such environments with the help of Web 2.0 services became a relevant approach to teaching informatics in modern rapidly changing conditions. The author designed an educational environment which includes the teacher’s organizational blog, personal blogs of students and Internet-services for support. The organization of teaching informatics in similar environment is based on the activity approach. During the educational process the main activity of students should be performance of tasks by means of various Internet technologies. The system of diagnostic tasks has been developed within the educational environment in order to test knowledge, skills and required competences. This system was built with the help of block-modular approach which allows realizing the goals of educational process with most efficiency: knowledge, skills and competences obtaining. Diagnostic tasks are divided into four groups according to level of learning experience in accordance with the classification of V.P. Bespalko: students, algorithm, heuristic and creative levels are allocated. The number of tasks in a particular module depends on the goals and objectives and the number of hours allotted to the module. Two groups of students took part in the experimental study. It was carried out in order to test the effectiveness of the introduced organization of teaching informatics. The students of the control group were taught by the traditional way, they performed laboratory works on selected topics of the course. The students of the experimental group performed diagnostic tasks which had been grouped into modules within the interactive learning environment based on the blog technologies. The level of knowledge in informatics was measured with the help of all-course closed test before and after the experimental study which involved the students of both groups. Consequently 80% students of the experimental group showed a high level of knowledge in informatics, while in the control group only 23% students reached the high level of knowledge after the experimental study. In order to check the statistical significance the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test was applied. It allows carrying out a paired comparison of results of two independent samples. According to the test it is safe to say with probability of 95% that informatics knowledge of students in the experimental group is much higher than that of the control groups, in consideration of their same level before the experimental study. Results of the experiment showed that the educational environment based on the blog technologies helps both to increase the level of skills with network technologies and to improve the quality of informatics teaching at the university.
