Enhancement of professional language competence in the sphere of transport logistics with regard to professional standards
This work covers a problem of improving the quality of foreign language professional training by means of e-learning and distant learning technology in view of professional standards requirements. In the paper the idea of training process organization, techniques and methods of foreign language learning that will promote successful job placement in foreign or mixed company for assistance in carrying out different kinds of business negotiations with foreign partners and working with electronic data and doing other business activities is described. The authors offer a new model of foreign language training that considers, first of all, international and professional standards requirements as well as the best business practices on special business English learning. The authors think that gamification and blended learning models are the most effective for students in training process. The timeliness of a new students’ training model is determined by intention of expanding the professional cooperation with foreign and Russian companies and stressing the importance of improving the quality of foreign language professional training within a system of continuous sector professional education. The authors draw special attention to e-learning and distant learning application. They underline that the implementation of e-learning and distant learning in teaching and learning process is carried out in full compliance with Russian Federation Education Act requirements. The working legislation and Federal State Educational Standards of new generation allow the combination of different methods of teaching and technology that considerably simplifies the use of business-plays and simulations while executing the curricula. On the basis of the detailed analysis of job functions of a specialist for transport logistics the authors have formulated the results of mastering and training on additional professional program of career enhancement «English for logistics». The differential characteristics of this program are the interactive teaching methods based on business simulations, role-plays and discussions. The authors have come to conclusion that we can sustain competitiveness increase and business demand of graduates in labour market only by using innovative methods of knowledge expansion and forms of teaching, the principles of personalization and individual educational path building and focusing on professional standards.
