DEAN’S OFFICE FUNCTIONS IN THE SYSTEM OF INDEPENDENT WORK MANAGEMENT OF FUTURE LAWYERS

The independent students’ work is an important integrate part of the academic process in a higher educational establishment. The paper deals with the problem of uncorrespondence of teachers’ and students’ demands in improving of functioning of independent work and insufficient effectiveness of modern managing system at the department. The research takes into account three aspects of lawyers’ training in a higher school. The organizational and normative conditions of independent students’ activity managing created by the rector’s office are defined the first aspect. As for the second one it is determined by the type of a higher educational institution. At multi-structural educational establishments the dean’s office is more independent in its decisions than at specialized jurisprudence educational establishments. The third aspect takes into account the lawyer’s specialty: the future law enforcement agencies are trained at educational establishments of military type, while the future civil lawyers are trained at traditional teaching conditions. The five groups of functions define the independent work of students of law specialties by the dean’s office management. The creative activity of the dean’s office is in the first group of functions. Their realization assumes development of academic courses management and providing the educational conditions at the department. The organizational functions of the dean’s office belong to the second group. They are: department- and self-organizational, organizational and pedagogical, academic and organizational. They are aimed at duties distribution within the department, comprehensive creation of conditions for teachers’ working and independent activity of the students. The motivated activity of the dean’s office is directed towards the teachers and students that defines the third group. Among them there are pedagogical-motivate and educational-motivate functions. The fourth group of dean’s office functions is aimed at promotion of the department work and education activity of students. They are: pedagogical stimulating and educational-stimulating. Stimulation includes the additional amount of teachers’ work, organization of individual work with students, and etc. The final group of dean’s office functions is defined with its activity of control. The function of self-control provides the self-analysis of the dean’s office administrative activity at various aspects. The functions of pedagogical and academic control are directed to monitoring of pedagogical activity and independent work of students. The functions of dean’s office which manages the independent work of future lawyers make it possible to realize the working out of technologies of managing independent academic activity of students of jurisprudence majors at the departments.
