APPLICATION OF E-RESOURCES AT SEMINARS ON RHETORIC (ON THE EXAMPLE OF DATABASES IN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY NAMED AFTER BORIS YELTSIN)
Application of digital technologies is the primary tendency in development of modern libraries. Practical activities of the Presidential Library named after B. N. Yeltsin is a striking example of such innovation. The Presidential Library contains a unique electronic collection of books on Russian literature of XVIII-XIX centuries. The library’s funds represent not only scientific interest, but also could be used in the frame of higher education with the view of improving pedagogical professional competences. The purpose of the present paper is to show the cultural and educational value of the Presidential Library collections and to describe the role of e-resources in formation of teacher’s communicative competences. Nowadays the Presidential Library successfully cooperates with different universities which have at their disposition multimedia-centers with open distance access. The collection of rare historical documents and books are available for students from different cities and regions of Russia. Digital library’s e-resources could be used as an important element at seminars in higher educational institutions, in particular at seminars on pedagogical rhetoric. What essential resources on pedagogical rhetoric does the Presidential Library include? Firstly, it contains various works which could be defined as classical. Among them there are books written by M. G. Smotitskii, M.V. Lomonosov, N.G. Kurganov, M.L. Magnitskii, N.I. Grech, M. M. Speransky, K.P. Zelenetsky. Secondly, it includes speeches of famous Russian personalities: P.A. Stolypin, A.F. Koni, V.I. Guerrier, S.M. Solovyov. The collections of Presidential Library enclose examples of political, missionary, judicial and military eloquence. And the last but not the least type of resources is formed by literature about historical figures who have made significant contributions to development of Russian language and literature. They are the memoirs, letters, biographies and modern monographs on research. Thus, e-resources of the Presidential Library are highly various and useful for university education. The paper describes how it is possible to incorporate the study of original texts into university educational process. The author characterizes primary documents which form the databases of the Presidential Library as didactic means of improving teachers’ professional competences. She offers various types and versions of tasks constructed on application of e-books and characterizes e-resources role of the Presidential Library in development of students’ communicative competence.
