AUTOMATED CONTROL OF STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE IN CONDITIONS OF LEVEL DIFFERENTIATION OF TRAINING
The article describes the organization of differentiated control of knowledge of future teachers’ of computer science via automated testing system, which was developed at Mari State University by the staff of mathematics and computer science department. Informatics as the science has a wide range of applications: from the theory of information to the methods of computational and applied mathematics and their applications to fundamental and applied research in various fields of knowledge (programming, multimedia, network technologies, development of computer systems and software, social science, artificial intelligence, etc.). Each of these areas has its difficulties, its approach to the study based on intellectual and psychological characteristics of students. Therefore, there is necessity for monitoring, systematization and automation of individual abilities measurement, capabilities and desires of future teachers of computer science; on basis of the obtained results there is an opportunity to offer them an individual educational trajectory corresponding to their capabilities and desires. We have developed a system of automated testing for organization of automated control of knowledge of future teachers of computer science in terms of level differentiation, which is expressed in training a group of students on the course where each student can master the material at various levels. This system was being developed in the language of PHP 5.3.1 with use of the database MySQL 5.1.40, involving libraries jQuery 1.6.1 and jQuery UI 1.8.11, which made the work with DOM-model pages easier and minimized the costs for writing scripts AJAX requests; using HTML 5 and CSS 3 made it possible to minimize costs for the system design and reduce the amount of loadable images. Also we used the Less - a dynamic stylistic markup language that extends CSS dynamic features such as variables, impurities, operations and functions. It has a user-friendly interface, easy administration system that allows the authorized instructor to automate feed processes, monitoring students’ results of testing, and generates tasks subject to the student’s potential, which is essential for quality control of knowledge. Except for the control function, the system has training function. Algorithm of its creation, database design, use of programming languages, markup and structured query are considered as examples on the subject “Information Systems” in training of future teachers of computer science (advanced level). The research, conducted by the staff of mathematics and computer science department and MOMiI MarSU, has proved the positive impact of the product introduction on the quality of training of future teachers of computer science.
