VARIETY OF LEARNING MATERIAL FOR DISTANCE LABORATORY WORKSHOP
Distance learning as one of the advanced technologies used in educational process is extensively applied to correspondence course for students. The most complicated part of teaching process is the laboratory workshop. That is why an urgent task of pedagogues is to develop learning material for carrying out of laboratory workshops in the correspondence form of education. However, it is obvious that preference should be given to carrying out of laboratory workshops in a traditional form in conditions of live contact between students, teachers and laboratory equipment in a special-purpose training laboratory. In most cases the disadvantage of e-learning material under development is impossibility of its application to laboratory workshops in the traditional form. The learning material designed to distance training as well as the software should not hamper the teacher and students in choice of cognitive activity direction, i.e. the structure of learning materials should be modular and provide a variety of using learning electronic database. In this case the variety must be manifested in ways of knowledge obtaining, in the methods applied and organizational forms of learning. The e-learning materials for carrying out of the laboratory workshops in “Ecology” and “Principals of personal and social safety” developed at Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) at the department of protection of labor and environment in collaboration with the personnel of multimedia applications laboratory have an identical structure and sequence in mastering of learning material in the course of work implemented by students. The modular model proposed for carrying out of laboratory workshops allows the teacher to state any mode for work performance and choose the succession of study of learning material from various modules. In all stages of carrying out of a laboratory work the student performs a certain element of the virtual laboratory work independently by means of a personal computer, and then he/she contacts the teacher and (or) real laboratory equipment, if possible. We considered an example of the analysis of a complex evaluated parameter - equivalent (in energy) level of unsteady on-site noise. It showed that for better mastering of matter of measurements taken the measurement of the parameter stated can be carried out by step-by-step regime not only by means of instruments of previous years, but also by modern means of measurements. This example proves that for carrying out of a laboratory work for evaluation of a complex parameter a principle of using variety of learning material can be applied in the framework of carrying out of the whole laboratory workshop and within its separate stages. It assists to achieve high quality of learning material mastering, improved productivity of learning, and variety of using e-learning materials. Implementation of the principle of using variety of learning material in the framework of the whole laboratory workshop and within its separate stages aims the developers of didactic means for e-learning at creation of a virtual laboratory work, the learning material of which will make it possible to choose various procedures of learning tasks training in different forms of learning in accordance with pedagogical purposes stated and other circumstances.
