Interactive technologies of training in the distributed system of physical and mathematical and natural-science education on the basis of open profile classes
Quality improvement of education meeting the standards of scientific and technological progress and social development has always been a priority of the educational system. Modern directions in modernisation of education encompass the establishment of optimal and equal conditions for learning. On the one hand, these conditions must contribute to the enrichment of knowledge and development of competences required for further professional activity. On the other hand, they must help to identify and develop individual characteristics in students, their creativity, and personality traits. Poor quality of secondary education is mainly caused by the absence of modern laboratory equipment in schools, fragmented teachers’ qualifications in modern scientific achievements and lack of interdisciplinary knowledge, and insufficient system of career guidance and popularisation of science among students. Interaction between schools and universities is considered the most effective solution to the enhancement of the quality of education in physics and mathematics and natural sciences. One of the most promising directions of the interaction consists in specialised classes focused on mastering special disciplines. Programmes of advanced learning enable the integration of secondary and higher education; they provide continuity between schools and universities and resolve the problems with university entrance procedure. Means and technologies of remote access allow us to organise learning process in schools by using the equipment of university’s studying and research laboratories. Improvement of technical means and telecomunitation systems underlying the network technologies has led to significant progress in the information exchange and establishment of qualitatively new distributed information and education environment. Tomsk State University pays great attention to the development of network educational space which serves as information and communication environment for conducting the lessons based on new technologies. The most efficient are the lessons based on the mixed technologies of various hardware and software platforms and conducted by the university staff members in “distributed audience” of specialised classes, when the lessons are simultaneously attended by several groups of school students divided by geographical principle. Of great importance in the concept is the TSU Data Processing Centre (DPC TSU). The Centre is a hardware and software complex used to process, store and transmit data. It has high availability and permits working with a wide range of licensed software and hardware resources. In general, this form of learning will significantly reduce the mediation of communication between teachers and remote participants, enhance the quality of education, and enable the development of information and communication skills and professional competences in students.
