The development of the electronic course for foreign language learning in technical university on the basis of blended learning

The article discusses the technology of electronic course design for foreign language learning in T.F. Gorbachev KuzSTU according to blended learning model. Blended learning model allows expanding educational opportunities, includes a number of ways of presenting material, combines e-learning programmes with elements of face-to-face classes, allows reallocation of resources and improves the performance and motivation of students. The course is intended to organize independent work of students of the first year (two semesters), it is designed for 166 hours of self-study, organized in an electronic environment on the platform Moodle. This course was designed according to the model of blended learning, which involves combining the best aspects of traditional education with forms of e-learning, which allows creating accessible and motivational courses for advanced students. While creating a course, we relied on a system of replacement of classroom interaction in the form of work in an electronic environment. We believe that technology of transferring should enable to provide a reduction of class hours and the restructuring of classroom activities to ensure the integrity of the educational process, implemented in different environments, and the necessary number of activities in an electronic environment. In designing the course, we also relied on the technology of «inverted class», which deals with self-study of theoretical material, performing tasks, motivating to search for an answer, and to realize discussions in forums. The aim of the course in an electronic environment is to master the basic vocabulary and grammar skills. It should be emphasized that the grammatical component of the course in the electronic environment prepares students to work in the classroom with a teacher. Practical classes include a variety of activities (reading, writing, speaking, listening), the implementation of which would be impossible without grammatical training. The article presents the structure of the course, modules and procedure of educational process organization.
