Global network the Internet as a factor prevents the development methods high education

In the article an analysis of negative effect of the Internet on higher education methodology is presented. It is shown that the wide expansion of the Internet and its application in higher schools have generated not only advantages but the whole range of problems as well. The first of them is widespread copying of task solutions by students. In particular, there are complete sets of reports and course works in different disciplines in the global net. The second problem consists in immediate emergence of new learning tasks and their solving with wide spreading in the Internet; the regularity of this phenomenon is as follows: the more often these tasks are used, the higher is the possibility of their appearance in the Internet. The third problem is that new manuals developed on different disciplines will appear in the Internet at once. That can lead to devaluation of university lectures on these disciplines. The solution of these problems is in the program ‘anti-plagiarism’, but it has the following disadvantages. Firstly, this program can be easily cheated; there are plenty of programs and services such as “anti-antiplagiarism” in the Internet as well as a great many of directions for how ‘anti-plagiarism’ programs can be deceived. Secondly, it is not clear so far what percent of text originality is required and which text can be regarded as unique and which is not? This question does not have any specific answer. Thirdly, course papers and reports are not considered to be scientific work, that is why they must not be unique as a whole and the teachers can not complain about quality of students’ papers. Fourthly, the originality testing is a time-consuming work; considering workload of contemporary higher school teachers it presents a certain complexity. Another solving of the problems above is the development of new learning tasks which have not been used before in higher education as well as lectures orientation to students’ cognitive activation. The paper shows insufficiency of the problems denoted despite their wide popularity; that is why a range of specific additional examination is demanded which makes it possible to develop some integrated solutions.
