SPATIAL THINKING TRAINING OF STUDENTS WITH THE MAJOR «LAND TRANSPORT AND TECHNOLOGICAL VEHICLES»
At present teaching students to spatial thinking or ‘graphic training’ in the course of their learning in higher educational institution is a necessary part of engineering education for future professionals. It is now that the objective conditions for scientific comprehension of higher education as a stage of continuing education have been created. The use of distance learning in a technical college contributes to this. Blaise Pascal said: “Our knowledge can never have the end because the object of knowledge is infinite.” Continual graphic training is considered as succession and logic sequence in the development of spatial thinking in teaching graphic and other disciplines, as well as continuous self-education, training and updating of knowledge required in engineering practice. Study of graphic continual education as an integrated system requires a thorough, deep analysis of each its section. Having identified their specificity, found the main points, set a measure of continuity between sections, examined the contribution of each of them to the overall formation of a personality, it is possible to consider the whole system of educational situations developing spatial thinking in a new higher level. Continuous graphic training involves the use of distance learning, the establishment of coherence of training sessions, which in turn allows us to solve other didactic principles - sequence of the course, logic of its construction, study of the material from the simple to the complex, and careful selection of educational material. To expound knowledge consistently means to associate the new with the obtained, to study material in details, highlighting main points and attaching students to the analysis and synthesis of the facts. In this regard, the questions concerning possibility of existence of certain continuity in graphic training of students are raised. These questions are of great interest because of lack of graphic training in higher schools, noted annually by the results of State Examination Commissions. The paper presents pedagogical conditions of student continual graphic training in major ‘Land transport and technological means’. The results of this study make it possible to use pedagogical conditions of graphic training of students as in the major ‘Land transport and technological means’ as in other majors in technical college.
