METHODOLOGY FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW MASTER’S DEGREE CURRICULUM IN CONDITIONS OF COMPUTERIZATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

In connection with innovation processes taking place in higher education system and ever-changing needs of labor market, there is a necessity of continuous modernization of Master’s degree curricula for students of a higher school. At the same time, multiple competency-based skills of graduates set in modern professional and federal state standards stipulate the expediency of increase of students’ independent learning and proper planning of educational process for both the higher school administration and the faculty staff. The paper considers the possibility of application of electronic learning resources, interaction between teachers and students and usage of visualized laboratory classes in teaching Master’s degree students due to their independent work increase and general trends of continuous computerization of higher education. The paper also highlights the factor of continuous interaction of Master’s degree students with prospective employers and partners of Master’s curriculum who are interested in further effective employment of alumni. The similar interaction, which helps in formation of key professional competences, is provided for the whole period of Master’s degree curriculum. The main objective of this study is development and implementation of “Automation of processes on the base of programmable controllers” in the framework of “Power engineering and electrical engineering” course, and also analysis of its prospective of future implementation. Topicality of introduction of this curriculum is stipulated by increasing needs of labor market in highly-qualified and socially mobile personnel possessing comprehensive metadisciplinary and vocational competences in addition to classical instrumental descriptors (knowledge, facility, skill) in the field of programming, commissioning and maintenance of automation systems on the base of controllers, creation of automated lines on the base of controllers, direct participation in industrial processes and implementation of research and development projects in this field. Consideration of international experience in development of similar Master’s curricula, usage of effective methodology of blended learning and close interaction of representatives of professional community of employers on all stages of development and implementation of Master’s curriculum will promote the sustained improvement of alumni competences, practically guaranteed employment after graduation and wide prospective for prospective career growth.
