EXPERIENCE ON DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE-COURSES IN TOMSK STATE UNIVERSITY OF CONTROL SYSTEMS AND RADIOELECTRONICS
This paper summarizes the 10-year experience of online courses developing at the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR). The flow process development of online courses at the Faculty of Distance Learning is considered. Within the technology, each course are developed under uniform requirements for the structure, design and application technologies in the learning process. This allows for the creation of online courses in a single format, as well as greatly optimize resources for their development (timing, human, material). Using this technology, the Faculty of Distance Learning have developed more than 250 online courses. The experience on development and application of online courses for on-campus education is analyzed. The online course as a modern interactive learning tool is of increasing interest and popularity among professors. Requirements for the online curses structure and content have become more adapted to disciplines of different fields of studies, which, on one hand, allowed to develop common indicators and criteria for assessing the quality of online courses, and, on the other hand, to preserve the professor’s approach to their development, to take into account the specifics of the educational content of disciplines. Also the experience on development and use of massive open online courses (MOOС) in the educational process of the university was considered. The TUSUR MOOCs are developed using the xMOOC technology (a classic open online course based on the cognitive behavioral approach). Such courses are convenient to introduce into the educational process of the university, since their model is similar to the model of traditional education. For the MOOC data development, The backward design technology is used. It allows for the design of courses educational content to suit the needs of the audience, and purposefully form the necessary competences. For 2.5 years, 9051 students received training at the TUSUR MOOCs, with 830 certificates being issued. Thus, various pedagogical experiments in the development of online courses on all forms of training, as well as the experience of developing the MOOCs, allowed to find and test new development methods that take into account the specific nature of the educational content of the courses. Currently, the most successful and effective solutions are being introduced into the practice of the online courses of TUSUR development, including for the improvement of existing online technologies at the Faculty of Distance Education. In general, referring to the prospects of the EL development in TUSUR, it should be noted that it is becoming more and more in demand. For the last 3 years we’ve experienced an intensive penetration of this technology into all levels of education and forms of training, implemented in TUSUR. In the near future, it is planned to conduct pedagogical experiments in order to find the right balance between the traditional classroom-based approach and e-learning in order to stimulate students to work continuously and independently throughout the whole semester to successfully master the disciplines and improve their academic performance.
