The article describes the basic ways of semantic changes of borrowed words in Russian of the second half of the 18th century. Words of foreign origin used in A.V.Suvorov's letters in the meanings different from the listed in dictionaries ones are analysed. Anisimov Kirill V., Siberian Federal University. BETWEEN TOBOL'SK AND SAINTPETERSBURG: FROM THE HISTORY OF SELF-DETERMINATION OF THE EARLY SIBERIAN LITERATURE (P.A. SLOVTSOV VS. G.I. SPASSKY). The article deals with the forming of art strategies in the descriptions of Siberia which date to the early 19 century Russian literature. As the main material we use printed and manuscript heritage of P.A. Slovtsov and G.I. Spassky, the greatest Russian orientalists of the early part of the century. The conclusion is drawn that P.A. Slovtsov's literary activity is conditioned by his principled aesthetic and world-view universalism. Key words: Russian literature of Siberia, identity, aesthetics, poetics.P. 73. Kozlova Svetlana M., Altay State University. ALTERNATIVES OF RUSSIA'S FUTUREAND PAST IN MODERN RUSSIAN PROSE. The article describes a layer of art fiction in Russian literature of 1970-2000s that stands out of popular mass literature. It is a futurological prognosis, the analysis of modern social and philosophical hypotheses, alternative to the real history of the 20th century Russia (V. Aksyonov's "Island of Crimea". I. Brodsky's "Marble", O. Slavnikova's "2017"). The division into alternative-historical prose, future-historical fiction and alternative futurology is offered. The connection between the author's axiology and the genre of the work: anti-utopia, dystopia, atopia is established.Key words: social fiction, futurology, genre, alternative history, modern belletristic.P. 82.
