Category of informative value of the commentary in interactive English-language media discourse
Our research assumes that the implementation of such specific text components as qualitative and quantitative information values could be educed at the pragmatic level of the written discourse, although they are explicated by means of certain linguistic markers which can be indicated. The aim of the work in this case is to identify the specifications for the informative component of the written comment in the context of interactive English-language media discourse on economics. Thus, within the main aim the following steps have been undertaken: a concept of the phenomenon of the informative value is provided, markers that identify informativity of the comments posted (the article itself is not analyzed) are selected and described. The informative category of a comment in this article is considered the content of the message (assertion or verdict) verbalized by a participant in the debate and carried out by various subjects of the media dialogue in the textual and thematic field of the article. The research material is the block of comments following the article in the form of a forum. The subject of the study is the virtual dialogue between the author and the commentators of the article issued in the internet journal, and viewed as a local polyphonic media discourse. Thus, the objective is the informative category of a comment viewed from the point of its informative impact and value. Thus, we suppose, that each comment has a cognitive-communicative content and this will presumably affect (a) the general content (verbal content) of the article + the comments complex, (b) the status/rating of the author, and (c) the informative status of the article. In the course of the research, the following conditions under which a comment can be classified as "informative" were identified: argumentation is given; thematic and professional vocabulary is used; low grade or complete absence of expressive (especially aggressive) speech elements are used. In this case, informative posts include: knowledge that is not actualized in the context of the article, but increases its explanatory potential; knowledge or comment statement which provides an alternative view at the article contents. In turn, the message is accepted as "uninformative" when: it does not contain reliable argumentation; the volume of the expressive component exceeds or excludes a significant informative message; it is not relevant to the main article context. The latter parameters can generally be considered as elements that introduce disorganization (entropy) into the information core of an article, yet we consider these factors in terms of "uninformativeness" in this study. The authors declare no conflicts of interests.
