Social networks as a tool for studying the higher education structure and educational migration: a sociological analysis of the phenomenon

The paper is devoted to the study of social networks in terms of the various sociological researches according to the phenomenon of educational migration in the system of higher education. The author concludes that for the purposes of the paper the most suitable theory is the theory of social capital of P.Bourdieu. Based on the results of sociological researches we can also conclude that educational migrant is inevitably included in the different types of social networks (university, student, group etc.), but the degree of interaction between them depends on both the objective and subjective reasons; the degree of social capital is also different. Educational migrant is obliged to acquire social, cultural and symbolic capital for successful integration into the social sphere of the university, and adopt necessary social practices for successful socialization. Academic and social integration of educational migrant are related to each other, but the level of academic integration is not the key factor for the migrant's education. Internet networks also have a significant impact on the process of integration of educational migrant.
