Trade unions, the Association of industrialists and entrepreneurs, employment services and recruitment agencies: relations with small and medium-sized businesses
The purpose of this study was to examine the specifics of the Russian model of interactions of social and labour relations actors in small and medium-sized businesses. The empirical research was considered on relationships of modern employees and employers of small and medium-sized businesses with trade unions, the Association of industrialists and entrepreneurs, the employment service and recruitment agencies. The following methods were used for the collection and analysis of empirical data: 1) questioning 500 employees of small and medium enterprises; 2) content analysis of semi-structured interviews with owners of 68 owners of enterprises small and medium-sized businesses; 3) expert interviews with representatives of trade unions, the Association of industrialists and entrepreneurs, services employment and recruitment agency. The analysis of questionnaires and interview research focus was directed on the general nature and assessment of relations between workers and employers with target us agents. We cleared out the fact of the existence of this interaction, reasons why it occurs or is missing, the nature and methods of these interactions, its effectiveness and the problems. Exploring the unique set of empirical data, the author concludes that in the modern model of social and labour relations in small and medium business is almost completely absent of such classic lines of communication as "worker- trade union» and «employer-association of industrialists and entrepreneurs». The interaction of the two main actors: workers and employers with the employment services and recruitment agencies are not decisive in the overall scheme of social and labour interactions (although for workers is probably closer to the employment services and for employers - recruitment agencies). The research results are of interest as one of the stages of exploring common models of modern social and labour relations in small and medium business, which will generate the optimal strategy of joint action actors, which in turn will contribute to social stability in the society as a whole.
