Homecoming is an important stage of Travel: the analysis of the travel structure as a form of self-transcendence

In previous articles it was offered to combine different types of traveling - all possible means of travel for a human in the physical real world («external» geographical) and in «internal» space of his personality - into term Travel. If Novelty is the main value and one of the true Travel's criteria, then its other features are awareness and voluntary fulfillment of the «external» and «internal» journeys; Traveler's ability to self-transcendence; his aspiration and opportunity to eventually return back (to society, to birthplace, to everyday reality, to Self); Traveler's creation of a «product» (further Product) produced after the completion of Travel and based on the experience obtained there. It is at this stage of the Return occurs the creation of a Product - a certain proof and creative and creative outcome of committed Travel. At the beginning of the Return's stage Traveler gets over adaptation to the world of everyday reality and changes inside Himself that have occurred to him after meeting with Novelty. Only after a break, during which Travel took place, and exclusively on the contrast with everymen who live within four walls, it is possible to perceive Novelty, which came into Traveler's life and his personality. During this period of time Traveler's Self is highly diffused and his personality is depersonalized, trans-personalized and partially marginalized. Current stage in the Return's process called «transit», «limi-nality» (A. van Gennep). Cultivation of new realities, means and structures at this stage will allow to «give birth» to Self in the skin of Novelty, particularly compile any variation of Self which looks most relevant at this phase of personality existence and congruent to its experience gained in the Traveling. By the time of Product's creation, Traveler's personality ultimately gains socially acceptable outlines and he gets a formed image of the world and Himself. Further, Traveler dives into the process of reflection on the topic of his Traveling to firstly realize its meaning and value for Himself and then share with others his conclusions via Product which is presented to society in a plain language or metalanguage of characters-sounds-codes (in case of artworks). Without the presence of the Product, we cannot consider what happened to the man as Travel and we cannot call him a Traveler as his personal experience and impressions in this case stay deeply internal and a Travel is an event out of personal life. And of course the general stage which can be called as Return includes phase which completely finalizes a previous Travel and begins a new one: building plans for future geographic journeys and apprehend interesting «internal» routes. In total we derive three main phases of the stage Return: Homecoming, Product creation and new Travel planning-apprehanding.
