Historical ontology as a problem

The article deals with the historical interrelation of ontology and epistemology. The mechanisms of the transition from the history of epistemology to historical epistemology are discussed. It is shown that the transition from the history of ontology to historical ontology cannot be explained by analogy with the transition from the history of epistemology to historical epistemology. It is suggested that when epistemology becomes historical, it re-poses the question of realism, but it cannot answer it, remaining within its own boundaries. A number of discourses, which position themselves as historical ontology, are considered. It is shown that revolutionary changes in structures of knowledge and the transition from one system of a reflexive justification of knowledge to another reveal gaps between the conceptual and the conceptual. It is shown that these gaps contain an unavoidable ontological problem. It is asserted that if we have an idea of these discontinuities, then we have a representation and formulate knowledge about something other than knowledge itself, and thus we go beyond the boundaries of epistemology.
