Transformation of family relations within the technological structure of the information society
The article attempts to clarify the theoretical and methodological potential of the concept of the technological structure of the information society in understanding the direction and nature of the transformation of family relations during the transformation of modern social reality. The problem situation, which is articulated within the socio-philosophical reflection, involves searching for answers to the following questions: What is the ontological and axiological orientation of modern social processes within the framework of the sixth technological revolution? How does the technological development affect the transformation of social reality? The aim of the research is to explain the narrowness of technocratic approaches in understanding the specifics of the technological structure of the information society exclusively in technical and technological projections, ignoring the anthropological, socio-cultural, axiological aspects of its functioning. The objectives of the research are as follows: a categorical analysis of the concepts of the technological structure and family relations; identification of the relationship between the shifts in the family and the broader context of societal transformations, articulated by Pitirim Sorokin, Ulrich Beck, Anthony Giddens, Alvin Toffler, Scott Lash. At the core of the modern technological structure are technological innovations, revolutionizing the economy and becoming a sustainable cluster of production. The key factors of its development are biotechnology, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence. Social infrastructure is incorporated into the technological structure as a system of reproduction of human capital and is represented by culture, science, education, and media. The modern family is one of the central social systems, which is undergoing transformations as a result of the influence of the technological structure of the information society, whose ontology has a communicative nature. It is shown that critical reflection on the impact of the technological structure of the information society on the transformation of family relations reveals the tendency that social development occurs through technical breakthroughs and innovations, but must correlate with the nature of the socio-cultural processes as well.
