Lev Shestov on crime and punishment

The author analyses Lev Shestov's understanding of crime and punishment. Shestov points to a contradiction between the Gospel commandment of non-judgmentmentalness and judicial practice. He sees the salvation of society in Christ's teaching about love; jails are the grave of a person and the place of birth of a criminal.
