Modeling and Analysis of Socio-Political Processes in the Republic of Belarus in 2020
The article examines the features of political communication in a modern network society on the example of protest events in the Republic of Belarus that took place after the elections of the president of the Republic of Belarus in 2020. As a conceptual approach, a systematic approach is used, which considers the entire public space of the state (the entire sphere of its political communication) as a system. The article analyzes one of its parts - the subsystem responsible for political communication in the Internet space. The aim of the study is to establish the information impact from the external environment on the network subsystem of the state’s public space. The object of the research was the political and communicative field of the Internet platform for supporting Facebook social networks. Two empirical methods were applied. One of them is a quantitative content analysis of the information and text array consisting of messages posted by residents of the Republic of Belarus on Facebook, indicating a number of keywords (hashtags). Based on the results of the content analysis, a change in the dynamics of user political activity in the information field of the Facebook Internet platform was established. The second method is computer simulation. Two situations of manifestations of social indignation in society are modeled: (1) without influence from the external environment and (2) implying influence. Having carried out a comprehensive, generalizing analysis of the results of the content analysis and computer modeling, the authors established that there is an impact from the external environment on the political communication subsystem considered in the article. Sources (impulses) of impact are news stories spread by representatives of foreign states in relation to Belarus. They are expressed in the form of statements by official representatives of foreign countries and members of international organizations. The authors conclude that the strengthening of a similar informational impact in the current political situation can lead to the activation of political communication of the country’s residents in the network public field.
