A Sociological Study of Generation Z's Behavioral Patterns: Gen Z and Philanthropy Practices

The problem underlying the study is the fact that the approaches used to increase the involvement of representatives of generations prior to generation Z in the practice of philanthropy turn out to be ineffective when involving zoomers, as they do not fit into the system of worldview practices and value orientations of Generation Z representatives. The study aims to analyze the problems and prospects for the development of approaches used to involve Generation Z representatives in philanthropy and develop recommendations for improving the technologies for involving zoomers in philanthropy based on the analysis of their value orientations. To reach the aim of the study, the author (a) analyzed the currently existing scientific studies (including empirical ones) on the specifics of Generation Z's value system and its correlation with philanthropic practices; (b) systematized the acquired knowledge and assessed how reasonable the distinction in value systems between Generation Z and its predecessors is from the standpoint of philanthropic practices. In practical terms, the author (1) explored the involvement of Generation Z's representatives in philanthropy; (2) on the basis of the obtained data and their analysis, determined the features of the influence of Generation Z's value system on involving zoomers in philanthropy; (3) developed recommendations to improve the involvement of zoomers in philanthropy.
