The biosocial landscape of discursive urbanism (a case of Latin American cities)

The article replying to Irina Savchenko’s “Discursive Urbanism: Method Search” proposes a methodological synthesis of discursive urbanism, integrating bioethics, philosophy and anthropology for the analysis of urban systems using the example of Latin America. Using the cases of Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and other megacities, the vulnerability zones caused by social inequality, environmental risks and digitalization are revealed. The article is analyzes the concepts “bioethical landscape”, linking biopolitics, historical trauma and civic identity, as well as “layered vulnerability”, reflecting the intersection of economic, cultural and environmental factors. It criticizes the reproduction of inequality in projects of gentrification and “smart cities”, where digital segregation and monopolization reinforce the exclusion of marginalized groups. New methods are proposed: critical phenomenology, digital ethnography, and ecosophy aimed at analyzing urban conflicts through the lens of ethics and inclusivity. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
