NEW RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS IN CONTEMPORARY RUSSIA: A PROBLEM OF FORMATION OF A RESEARCH POSITION
. In this article, the focus of analysis is a methodological problem of the ethnographic approach in sociology. It is considered an example of such a specific domain of domestic sociological research, as the study of new religious movements (NRM). Three main approaches to the study of new religious movements that exist at present in Russia are identified and described there: "free communication", "the classic participant observation", "intermediate approach". In these approaches the problem of the research positions is analyzed through the prism of its aspects, such as personal identity of the researcher (gender, age, professional status, etc.) and research role, defined by the ratio of insider and outsider components.
