An apologist of orthodoxy before a viennese military court. on the 100th birthday of mitred right reverend DR. Kassian Dmitrievich Bogatyrets (1868-1968)

The article was published in the USA by R.D. Mirovich in the Journal "Free Word of Carpathian Rus'" in 1969. A short biography of Father Kassian is given along with a description of his brave stance at the Second Viennese Trial (1915-1916). Quotes of his address in defense of the rights of the Orthodox Church are also given. Father Kassian's well thought-out historical argumentive address had an impression on the military tribune. However despite this, he was given the death sentence, which was nullified by a declared amnesty.
