The report focuses on recommendations on the attitude to Uniatism. It was written on November 24, 1915, when Galicia was abandoned during the Great Retreat (June -September 1915), and the front was stabilized. Its copy was registered in the Special Political Department of the Foreign Ministry of Russia on December 14, 1916, with No. 895. At the beginning of the report the author provides historical information on Galicia, describes the attempts to introduce the Union, the struggle of the local population to preserve Orthodoxy. He writes about the role of Moldova, Orthodox communities and Russia’s assistance in the preservation of Orthodoxy. He gives an overview of the Austrian policy on the Rusins, shows the split in the Rusin movement. Initially it was divided into Russian and “Ruthenian”. Later, under the influence of Austria, the Rusin movement was divided into the old Russian and the Ukrainian parties. Danilov emphasised that in religious terms the Galicians were influenced both by Orthodoxy and Uniatism. The author proposes a number of measures to strengthen Orthodoxy in Galicia. The document is stored in the Archive of Foreign Policy of the Russian Empire.
