O znachenii russkogo pokhoda 1849 g. dlya avstro-ugorskikh narodov [Regarding the Significance of the Russian Campaign of1849for the Austro-Ungarian Peoples]
The author tells about the campaign of the Russian army, under the leadership of Field Marshall I.F. Paskevich-Erivanskii, to quell the Hungarian uprising in 1849. He considers that the campaign brought opportunity not only to the Slavs and Rumanians of Hungary but also to the common Hungarians. According to the opinion of the author, the campaign of 1849 showed that the Middle-Danubian Plain was located in the sphere of the interests of Russia, to whom the fate of the inhabitants was not of little concern. A. Budilovich reiterated that the Russians (Rusins) inhabit the area around the source of the Tisza and the Beskid Mountains up to the present. A note about the campaign of 1849 by Count Ridiger, one of the Austrian Military Commissioners assigned to theThird Corpus during the campaign, was attached to the article.
