On Galician and Hungarian Rus' (translated from "czech from casopis ceskeho museum")
A.V. Starchevsky (1818-1901) - Russian journalist, encyclopaedist and connoisseur of European and Oriental languages. In 1844 he published an article "On Galician and Hungarian Rus'" in the "Journal of the Ministry of National Education". The material was taken from the journal "Casopis Ceskeho Museum" and translated from the Czech language. In 1841-1843 it printed essays "Journey through Galician and Hungarian Rus'" by Ya.F. Golovatskii (Casopis Ceskeho Museum. 1841. XV. 2. pp. 183-223; 1841. XV. 3. pp. 302-317; XV. 4. pp. 423-437; 1842. XVI. 1. pp. 42-62) and "On Galician and Hungarian Rus'" (1843. XVII. 1. pp. 12-52). The essay "On Galician and Hungarian Rus'" contains interesting information on the geography, history and ethnography of Galician, Bukovinian and Hungarian Rus'. Part of the essay (1843. XVII. 1. pp. 12-52) was translated into Russian by A. Starchevsky.
