The name of the Academician Alexander Ivanovich Danilov (1916-1980) is well known to Russian historiographers and historians of medieval Europe. He had a lot of students and followers, especially at the Tomsk University, where this brilliant scholar and scientist worked in 1947-54 and in 1961-67. One of his former students, V.T. Fomenko, remembering Professor I.M. Razgon, referred to two events connected with Dr. Danilov that took place in 1949 and 1968. In addition, in his letter to L.G. Suhotina in 1968, Fomenko wrote about his strong impression Danilov made on him as Minister of Education of the Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic. In another letter to L.G. Suhotina, V.T. Fomenko told about Professor Danilov's funeral which V.M. Samosudov attended. L.G. Suhotina, V.T. Fomenko and V.M. Samosudov were former students of the famous "guard" - the 135th group of TSU History and Philology Faculty (1947-52). The last document of this collection is the letter to the compiler of the publication, S.V. Fomenko, in which Professor L.G. Suhotina wrote in 2004 about Danilov's role in her scientific life.
