Savely Wolfson, historian, specialist with wide interests in international relations, the Head of the Department of international relations at Tomsk State University, answered the questions. How to chose a topic of research? What themes of research are relevant? What does it mean to live and to work in Siberia? Sevely Wolfson believes that a scholar has a free will to chose the topic for his / her research, although it is important that the chosen topic was relevant for the region and for the country. Savely Wolfovich thinks that the results of study should be on demand for business, authorities and society. The leading world countries have determined the priorities in the field of research, while Russia still has to set her priorities. The main concern of Savely Wolfson is a growing danger of a big war, and considering this situation a specialist in international relations should speak truth on real situation in the world.
