Traditional Variants of Network Communities in the Pre-Digital Era: Old Believers-chapelites of Siberia According to Household Books of the 1920s-1950s

This article analyzes the process of the formation of the confessional community of the chapelite Old Believers in the 1920s-1950s on the territory of the Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The features of the demographic and confessional composition of Siberian Old Believer communities as parts of a single network of Old Believer migrations, which differ in the continuity of their social composition - mainly individual peasants, are revealed. Based on the digital analysis of mass statistical sources - household books, it was revealed that the Perm Krai in the first half of the XX century continued to be a traditional exit point for Siberian chapelite Old Believers. The authors came to the conclusion that the confessional vector of both migration itself and the arrangement and life activity was pivotal, factorial for the reproduction of a specific confessional “network” of Siberian Old Believer communities.
