The Influence of Parents' Competencies in Healthy Activities on the Formation of Children's Subject Position in Relation to Preserving and Strengthening Their Health

The research examines the influence of the level of parents' competencies in healthy activities on the formation of the subject position of children in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health in the health-forming activities of an educational organization through the introduction of a comprehensive educational program for parents. Based on the study of works on personal education and of the regulatory framework of educational activities in the education system, the author has identified the types of activities that are inherent in healthy people and form their subject position in relation to preserving and strengthening their health: physical, environmental, medical, psychological, moral and social. These activities can also be interpreted as “healthy activities”. For a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of educational interventions aimed at improving competencies in healthy activities of parents of students, schools of Vozhegodsky District (Vologda Oblast, Russia) were identified as experimental, and schools in Kha-rovsky District (Vologda Oblast, Russia), where such interventions were not carried out, were identified as control. In the experimental schools, parents' competencies in healthy activities were improved on the basis of organizing a comprehensive educational program School of Family Health Pedagogy specially developed for them. Trained medical professionals, psychologists, and social educators took part in organizing and conducting these classes. The level of parents' competencies in healthy activities was determined using the WHO CINDI methodology adapted to the present study. The dynamics of the formation of parents' competencies in healthy activities was determined by the high level of their formation. During the experiment, this indicator for parents of schools in Vozhegodsky District improved by 14.8%, and in Kharovsky District by 8.1%. The level of formation of children's subject position in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health was determined according to the method developed by the author based on the method of free choice of the presented answers (M.A. Shchukina). For the period from 2011 to 2018, in the schools of the experimental Vozhegodsky District, the indicator of the high level of subject position formation in five-graders increased by 1.9 times and in eleven-graders by 1.7 times; in the schools of the control Kharovsky District, it increased by 1.2 times in both five- and eleven-graders. The data obtained in the study allow stating that the educational program School of Family Health Pedagogy developed by the author increases the level of parents' competencies in healthy activities and influences the effectiveness of forming the subject position of children in relation to preserving and strengthening their health.
