Reflection of American cultural values in discourse on Japan
This article views mass-media discourse on Japan as the instrument of transmitting cultural values of American society such as freedom, equality, individualism, success, independence, action orientation and others. The research is done through the prism of cultural oppositions: individualism/collectivism, multiculturalism/isolationism, agent/patient cultures, low-context/high context cultures.
