Criminalistic analysis of the subj ects of crimes connected with the organisation of extremist activity
The research is focused on the subjects of crimes related to the organisation of extremist activity and their forensic analysis. The author investigates the functioning of subjects in the mechanism of crimes associated with the organisation of extremist activity and their identification in the process of investigation. The personality traits of an extremist are manifested in the detected traces, such as education, IT skills, experience of concealing crimes and counteracting their disclosure. This research provides significant information about the connection of extremist activities (including organisation and commission of subordinate crimes) with the personality traits and emergence of information on the commission of crimes related to the organisation of extremist activity and its participants. This connection makes possible to build a mechanism and corresponding models on the basis of criminal activity and the postcriminal behaviour of the perpetrators and related persons, to analyse the initial and subsequent situations, to put forward versions, and to conduct the necessary operational-tactical combinations. The personality traits under the investigated category of crimes are manifested in ideal and material traces differently. The overwhelming majority of participants in extremist activity are between 18-23 years old. Perpetrators connected with the organisation of extremist activity are generally 3-5 years older than other participants in such activities, which allows such people to organise extremist activities, directly participate and recruit new participants, receive the necessary funding, and commit other crimes subordinated to the criminal activity under analysis. Females who participated in such activities account for no more than a quarter, which is the lowest level of participation. According to the social position, the most of persons guilty of organisation of extremist activity (74%) have an incomplete higher or completed secondary education. The amount of funding varies on average from 100 to 1,000 dollars. The size of the group varies from 2 to 3 persons (61%); the number of previously convicted persons makes 13%. One criminal case involves from 3 to 5 episodes of criminal activity. The irreconcilable struggle against terrorism and extremism is no longer confined to a single country. One of the important areas in the fight against terrorism and extremism is the forensic analysis of the subjects of crimes related to the organisation of extremist activity, and information about them, that is, the system of knowledge about radical personalities, including demographic, social or economic information used in the disclosure and investigation of crimes.
