The influence of the geographical factor on the economic growth of Russian regions (evidence from the border regions of Siberia)

The authors attempt to assess the impact of geographical factors on economic growth of Russian regions in the article. The assessment shows a measurable underestimation of the border regions development. The providing border regions with the necessary institutional conditions can increase their economic potential severalfold. The actions for the further progressive development of the Siberia border regions are proposed. They are directed to cardinal changes in supporting infrastructural and technological development for the border regions of Siberia.
