Article Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts are submitted to the Tomsk State University Journal of Economics.

The submission package  must include the following:

1) Text of the article with an abstract and key words in the English language.

2) Information in the English language.

3) Author’s (authors’) personal details.

Letter of Consent to article publication in print and on the web, signed by the author and authenticated in his company or academic institution. Minimum article length for authors is 10 pages (from 20,000 characters onward). Articles from teams of authors are welcome.

The editors of the Tomsk State University Journal of Economics recommend the following article structure (without rubrication):

1) Introduction. General problem statement in the context of the latest research and publications with obligatory references embedded in the text.

2) Goal setting. Statement of the research objectives and methods.

3) Results. Presentation of the points of the research and rationale of the obtained results.

4) Conclusions. Scientific novelty and theoretical value of the research, prospects of further research in this field.

The Journal is a quarterly.

Manuscripts are accepted throughout the year, in Russian or in English (author’s personal details, an abstract and key words). Publication is free of charge, authors are not remunerated.

Manuscripts are to be submitted in two ways:

1) only in electronic form (in this case it is necessary to register on the site of the Journal and upload the scanned copies of the authenticated Letter of Consent and the text of the article. The author’s name in Latin characters should be used to name the files (e.g. Ivanov1.doc, Ivanov2.doc, Ivanov3.doc).

or

2) as hard-copy print outs delivered to the address: Redakcyia zhurnala “Vestnik Tomskogo Gosudarstvennogo Universiteta. Economica”, Tomskyi Gosudarstvennyi Universitet pr. Lenina, 36, 634050, Tomsk.

In both cases the electronic version of the article must indispensably be uploaded on the site of the Journal. After registering and uploading the materials the authors will receive automatic e-mail notices on the article status (receipt of the hard copy, the outcome of the review, etc.).

Manuscripts sent by email are rejected.

In case of non-compliance with the requirements the editorial staff reserves the right to reject the manuscript.

P.S. It is not recommended to send manuscripts by certified mail or in letter packets.

The Journal accepts manuscripts created in the WinWord text editor. They should be submitted to the Executive Editor’s Office via the journals web−based online manuscript submission system or as hard-copy print outs (A-4 size paper). Illustrations (figures, tables, charts, diagrams etc.) are submitted in separate files stored in the author’s folder. All figures are published only in black-and-white, full-color illustrations will only be available in the electronic version of the article.

The article should begin with the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) code followed by

1) the author’s last name and initials,

2) the title of the article, written with lower-case letters, e.g. “Cluster as structural institution of competitiveness of economics”,

3) an abstract, not less than 500 characters including spaces in Russian and  not less than 2 500 characters including spaces in English, written in italics and separated from the article text by a line skip,

4) key words (5 - 10).

Each item stated above is to be typed in a new line. The text is written in 14 pt. Times New Roman font, single spaced. The margins (top, bottom, inner, outside) are 2.0 cm. All the paragraphs are indented 0.5 cm. 

When additional fonts are used, samples of these fonts should be submitted to the editors’ in the author’s folder.

All pages should be numbered except the title page. Page numbers are to be placed at the bottom of the page, right justified, and be consistently placed throughout the document

References are to be embedded after a citation in square brackets with indication of the sequential number of a source, volume, and page, e.g. [1. V. 2. P. 25]. The Reference List should be at the end of the article, titled “References”. All the items on the list are numbered beginning with #1 in the order of mention or citation in the text (not in the alphabetic order!). Every single reference must have its own number.

When notes are used, they should be identified in the text by consecutive numbers and presented at the end of the article. If a reference is mentioned in a note, its number in the Reference List should correspond to the number of the reference, after (or before) which the mention-containing note is placed in the article text.
