Competence of the manager of the successful entrepreneurial project (regional aspect)

The success of entrepreneurial projects as a form of implementation of innovative ideas depends on many factors, the key role of which is played by the competence of the project managers. The authors summarize the theoretical basis of the criteria for the success of business projects and the competencies of project managers. The result of the analysis of theoretical and applied aspects is the formulation of the research question about the impact of the manager's competencies on the success of the project. To answer this question we conducted an empirical study through interviews and the survey of graduates of the Center of Business Education of Dostoevsky Omsk State University of the Presidential Program for the Training of Management Personnel for the Organizations of the National Economy of the Russian Federation in the Omsk region. Analysis of the results allowed dividing the projects into successful and unsuccessful, and then to determine the presence of specific competencies of the managers of these two groups of projects. The authors conclude that such competencies as strategic thinking, delegation of authority, decision-making, ability to work in a team are important for the success of projects. The authors put forward the assumption that today is the time not for leaders-individuals but team-leaders able to form project team, to engage in the project different people, to act not alone, but together with the team. The results of the study are useful for the development of training programs, retraining and advanced training of project managers, for the development of individual plans for personal and professional growth of project team leaders.
