Approaches to Assessing the Use of Smart Technologies in the Development of the Economic Potential of Territories: Assessing the Readiness of Russian Regions
In the study, an attempt was made to assess the readiness of the Russian regions for the transition to the “smart city” concept of spatial development. For this purpose, an online survey of the territory's stakeholders on the potential use of “smart” technologies in the development of the territories' economic potential was organized. As a result of the survey, the main problems of the socioeconomic development of Russian territories were identified, the quality of urban areas' functioning was assessed, the level of awareness of the “smart city” concept and the technologies used was identified, and constraints were identified. The authors' conclusion is that there is no full-fledged social demand for a massive introduction of “smart” technologies to solve current problems of urban development.
