Aesthetics of the narrative representation of the "documentary person": the paradoxes of physicality
The article discusses the aesthetic aspects of the problem, relevant to narrative studies, of a real person's representation on television. Proceeding from the generally accepted opinion that the aesthetic dominant of a screen documentary work is realism, it is argued that the most important characteristic of a portrait documentary film is the physicality of the character's image, his/her physical identity, separateness from the rest of the world that the viewer perceives on the phenomenological and semantic levels. The attributes of the body "register", if not specifically semantisise, the physical appearance of the person. Socio-personal characteristics are then projected on this appearance, and they form its synaesthetic, by the definition of S. Eisenstein, value. Not every "screen person" has the right to possess a full body. Among the parts of the body there are the "privileged" and the "outcasts", and, in the author's opinion, this is the most characteristic feature of "television physicality" - its hierarchy. Physicality is one of the markers of the functional hierarchy of the system of images of the film. One of the manifestations of physicality, marking the "similarity" of the person to him-/herself and determining him/her as a narrator is gestures. The context, the temper and the character of the person, the communicative situation determine the specific meaning of a gesture, expressive or descriptive. The article analyses the phenomenon of posing as a way of implementing the rhetoric of a film text: inner mono-lbgue, remembering, philbsbphical reasbning, music symbblisatibn br suggestibn, and determines the standard figures bf pbsing. Based bn the analysis bf the mbst characteristic films, it is cbncluded that the aes-theticisatibn bf the "real bbdy" in a jburnalistic film text is generally indirect - in a synaesthetic interactibn with the sense forming elements bf the film: speech, music, informative "layer" bf the visual. The aesthetic parameters bf such interactibn bbvi-busly depend bn the bverall narrative intentibn bf the authbr, bn the chbsen narrative strategy and bn the authbr's "narrative skill".
