Orthodox media of the Republic of Mordovia: typological and unique features
Orthodox media publications of the Republic of Mordovia on a territorial basis / distribution area belong to regional ones; therefore, they have their own unique features. The authors consider the multi-topicality and multi-functionality to be the typological features of the Orthodox media of Mordovia. The lack of the information and analytical component is one of the characteristic features of the Orthodox journalism of the Republic of Mordovia established by the metropolis. The authors see the reasons for this in the material disinterest in the reader, the low professional level of editorial groups and journalists collaborating with them, etc. The authors emphasize that none of the specialized Orthodox media titles of the Republic of Mordovia has electronic versions with online access. On the contrary, highly specialized Orthodox media of the Republic of Mordovia are mostly distributed electronically. Highly specialized Orthodox media of the Republic of Mordovia are widely presented in social networks and other Internet sources. Orthodox themes in the secular journalism of the Republic of Mordovia are discussed in separate sections or publications in polythematic news editions. At the same time, radio and television Orthodox media do not survive in the region. The study of the thematic areas of Orthodox journalism of the Republic of Mordovia based on the study of publications in highly specialized, specialized and secular media of various kinds has shown: - thematic areas that are common for all media with different presentation and genre forms: a) informing about the current news in the Orthodox religious field of the region: opening of new churches or their dedication, reconstruction of old ones, arrival of sacred things from other Russian cities and from abroad in the operating temples; b) historical and cultural information about famous Orthodox saints and temples of the region, stories about people involved in the construction, restoration, painting of temples; - thematic areas common for specialized media: a) the "public pages" of youth missionary organizations inform about current news in the Orthodox religious field of the region related to the holding of various events and actions; b) the Mordovian Metropolis publishes historical and cultural information about the greatest Christian saints and their spiritual experience, instructions, about Orthodox holidays, stories of personal spiritual experiences; - thematic areas common for secular media: the problematization of various issues of spiritual life.
