Leonid Besprozvanny on the pages of the newspaper Znamya Kommunizma (Angarsk, 1956-1960)
The article examines the early period of the journalistic work of Leonid Vladimirovich Besprozvanny (1933-2012), who was also an outstanding figure of the press and theater. In 1956-1960 he was a staff member of the newspaper Zna-mya Kommunizma [Banner of Communism]. During this period, he published at least several dozen detailed materials of an informational and critical-analytical nature, a lot of articles co-authored with other journalists of the newspaper, a large number of small informational notes. Undoubtedly, these materials are of great historical value today. In addition, they allow tracing the creative formation of the gifted author. This article analyzes Besprozvanny's creative activity during the mentioned four years. The archive of the newspaper (titled Vremya [Time] today) was studied, in which newspaper files with editorial notes, transcripts of pseudonyms and indication of the authors of anonymous materials were preserved. Be-sprozvanny's personal archive preserved in the Angarsk City Library No. 3, which bears his name today, was also explored. An important find was a selection of Be-sprozvanny's own newspaper materials of 1956-1960 that he personally made and donated to Vremya. By the decision of Vremya's editor-in-chief, the selection was part of the materials to be disposed, but one of the authors of this article, Valeria Bashkatova, managed to save it. Considering the materials published by Bespro-zvanny in 1956-1960, two points should be stressed. On the one hand, the materials show a gifted young journalist who sought to cover a wide range of topics and sincerely experienced the events of his era; on the other hand, they chronicle the diverse life of the young Siberian city of Angarsk, the very appearance and development of which fully symbolize this era. Analyzing the subject matter of the materials, it is appropriate to divide them into three groups: 1) information materials about various areas of Angarsk life; 2) articles on cultural issues; reviews of performances, concerts, movies; 3) satirical materials. This article discusses each of them in detail. Particular emphasis is placed on publications related to cultural issues, since it was these issues that eventually became central in Besprozvanny's works. We can see that already when working in Znamya Kommunizma” Besprozvanny forms his special commitment to drama productions, although also showing his considerable interest in music, cinema and circus. The conducted study allows concluding that, already in his youth, Besprozvanny proved himself as a serious journalist-analyst and also began to show himself as an expert and devotee of theatrical art development. Undoubtedly, all this became a valuable basis for the further development of the unique personality. It is no coincidence that later Besprozvanny was able to publish detailed materials not only in regional, but also in central editions.
