Local history content in the magazine for family reading Sibirskaya Gornitsa (1995–2004)
The article examines the thematic and genre diversity of the local history content of the family reading magazine Sibirskaya Gornitsa, published in Novosibirsk from 1995 to 2004. As the analysis shows, the creators of Sibirskaya Gornitsa considered the popularization of family values, the awakening of readers' interest in the history and culture of their native land, the familiarization of the mass audience with the works of Siberian poets and writers to be priority tasks. The magazine served as a media platform for preparing for the celebration of anniversaries (the upcoming 60th anniversary of Novosibirsk Oblast in 1997 and the celebration of the 105th anniversary of Novosibirsk in 1998). The local history content was reflected in many sections of the magazine, but it was mainly concentrated in three main sections: “Siberian Tract”, “Province”, “Novonikolaevsk-Novosibirsk”. The editorial board of the magazine, when selecting local history material, focused on the historical and artistic value of publications, their regional character, and were also guided by the principles of reliability of factual material and its relevance. The analysis of the sections containing popular science articles, chronological notes, essays by historians, publicists of the late 19th - early 20th centuries and modern researchers allows considering the magazine Sibirskaya Gornitsa in the system of local history magazine and journal periodicals.
