Axiology of journalism: Problematic fields of research
The article substantiates the relevance of the interaction of the axiology of journalism with the philosophical theory of values. The question about the place of the new field in the system of scientific knowledge is topical. The changing value system of modem society and the rapidly developing technological progress affecting the field of mass media justify the importance of developing the conceptual apparatus of mass media axiology as a new applied discipline within the framework of the philosophical theory of values. The question of the relationship between the axiology of journalism and the philosophical value theory seems to be most important due to the extensive methodological intersections of these disciplines. The aim of the article is to identify the problem of studying the axiological aspect of mass media from the point of view of the philosophical approach. The author sets out to trace the main milestones of the scientific development of the axiology of journalism, as well as to outline the range of problems solved by this science today. The research is novel due to the consideration of these aspects in the context of philosophical discourse. The author describes the prerequisites of the emergence of journalistic axiology, fields of intersection with the axiology of journalism as a section of philosophy, and perspectives of the philosophical approach within the framework of axiological studies of media text. The emergence of the new field of knowledge in the context of a philosophical comprehension of the problem of value relation is considered. The factors that determine the relevance of the philosophical approach in the framework of axiological studies, as well as the main approaches to the consideration of the value component of journalistic activity are indicated. The practicality of this article is due to the conscious operation of data on the value aspect of media, which can lead to a more demanded and adequate media product in terms of ethical norms. The analysis of the value system of media spheres is crucial for axiological research in philosophy today, and a dialectical connection between the two disciplines can expand the possibilities of a theoretical comprehension of value questions and assessments as philosophical categories. The study of the value component of mass media activity is a topical and important problem, requiring a systemic vision that would allow to comprehensively comprehend various aspects of this issue. The axiology of journalism in the context of the philosophical aspect opens wide horizons for research, allows not only to critically reflect on existing practices, but also to offer new ways to understand the role of journalism in modern society.
