The effect of activating co and ni additives on the mechanisms of reaction and diffusion interaction at the sintering of the TiNi-based powder PV-N55T45
The influence of reaction and diffusion interactions during sintering of powder based on TiNi PV-N55T45 and Co and Ni activating additives on the microstructure features and structural phase composition of porous TiNi-based alloys in the perspective to create porous-monolithic structures was studied. By liquid-phase diffusion sintering of TiNi-based powder, porous samples were obtained with activating additives Co and Ni with concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 at. %. It is established that the activating effect of Co is more moderate compared to Ni additives. The calculation of the heat released during the chemical reaction from the introduction of activating additives showed that the value of -∆H for the obtained porous alloys with Co additives is 28 kJ/mol, for alloys with Ni additives 52 kJ/mol. In all samples, the presence of the austenitic phase B2, the martensitic B19´, Ti2Ni, Ti4Ni2 (O, N, C) and Ti3Ni4. In the material with Ni additives, the TiNi3 phase was additionally detected. Due to the introduction of a monolithic plate in the sintered powder system, it is possible to compensate for heat sink at a concentration of 1.5 at. % activating additive Co. This made it possible to obtain porous-monolithic structures based on an TiNi-based alloy with high quality of sintering the porous part to the monolithic one.
