Phase composition and hardness of polycrystalline materials based on AlMgB14
The phase composition, crystal structure and hardness of AlMgB14 ceramic materials obtained by hot pressing powder mixtures of various particle size distribution were studied. It was found that the highest content of the AlMgB14 phase of ~ 97% is achieved for samples from the Al-Mg-B powder mixture after 4 hours of mechanical activation in a planetary mill. The highest hardness value was 31.9 GPa.
