Structural heredity of aluminum alloy, obtained by additive method and modified under severe thermo-mechanical action, on its final structure and properties

The study of aluminum alloy AA5356 samples obtained by the electron-beam additive manufacturing method and modified using the friction stir processing method. Processing was carried out along and across the growth direction of samples. It is determined that during the friction stir processing the pores formed in the 3D-printing process are eliminated due to severe thermo-mechanical action. It was found that the modes for different processing directions are not the same. As a result of the processing parameters selection, it was revealed that a higher loading force should be applied to form a high-strength stir zone across the direction of layers deposition. This is caused by the boundaries created during the layer deposition process, which are offer more mechanical resistance to the tool.
