Kinetic features of heat and mass transfer under welding and surfacing
The paper deals with the issues related to the study of kinetics of fast processes of heat and mass transfer accompanying the processes of arc welding and surfacing in the environment of protective gases by a melting electrode. It is shown that the instability of the processes of melting and transfer of the electrode metal mainly depends on the complex of forces acting on the drop of the electrode metal located at the end of the continuously fed electrode. It is experimentally proved that the instability of the process and the sputtering of the electrode metal depend on the energy parameters of the regime. At the same time, the implementation of control algorithms for energy parameters based on the pulse change of their instantaneous values is the most effective direction for improving the technology of arc welding with a melting electrode in a protective gas environment.
