Analysis of the spectral characteristics of perspective liquid carriers in THz spectral region

This paper presents the results of an analysis of the spectral characteristics of perspective liquid carriers of different viscosity and nature in the THz spectral region at the room temperature. The spectral absorption characteristics in the range from 0.3 to 2 THz of researched liquids with a layer thickness of 3, 6, and 9 mm are presented. It is shown that, irrespective of thickness of a layer of the studied sample the Toyota 5w40 synthetic engine oil is perspective as the liquid carrier for synthesis and use of magnetic fluid in THz range.
