Effect of surface treatment on nickelide titanium wetting

The results of the study of the surface wetting of nickelide titanium alloys with water and DMEM synthetic nutrient medium were given. A comparative analysis of the wetting angle after grinding samples, sandblasting, oxidation in air, etching in acid solution, steam treatment, treatment with hydrogen peroxide and detergent solution in an ultrasonic bath. It was shown that air oxidation and acid etching increase the hydrophilicity of the surface of nickelide titanium . The greatest hydrophilicity with a wetting angle of water of about 30 degrees was achieved during steam treatment after sandblasting, and after hydrogen peroxide treatment of the sample oxidized in air. The different effects of the treatments on the wetting angle are caused by the change in the surface energy of nickelide titanium samples, which are affected by the microrelief and the structural and chemical characteristics of the surface.
